Raindrop technique

The Raindrop® Technique was developed by Young Living's founder and CEO, Donald Gary Young in the 1980s.  He drew inspiration from his experience with the Amerindian traditions of the Lakota tribe.  This technique provides a revolutionary way to promote harmony from a physical, mental and emotional point of view.

The Raindrop® Technique is a unique practice based on methods used for centuries to rejuvenate the body and mind. Donald Gary Young had the opportunity to study with one of the elders of this tribe, Wallace Black Elk and was inspired to create what is now the Raindrop® technique, a technique that helps balance and harmonize the body by combining massage and aromatherapy.

The Raindrop® Technique is practiced using a series of essential oils.  These are placed, one after the other, like raindrops along the spine.  The massage by effleurages, balayages (feather stroking) allows the distribution of essential oils on the back.  This stimulates the immune system and allows you to enjoy the different aromatic and therapeutic properties of essential oils, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and serenity.

The Raindrop® Technique uses VitaFlex during the treatment.  VitaFlex was introduced in the 1920s by Stanley Burroughs. It is an ancient Tibetan methodology that means "vitality through reflexes".  The VitaFlex theory is based on the fact that a slight pressure applied to the body creates an electrical charge that is therapeutic for the physical body. This is called piezoelectricity: even slight pressure on the human skin induces a voltage and a corresponding current in the body.

VitaFlex is done with a series of essential oils on the reflex zone of the spine of the foot.  By stimulating the reflex zone of the spine through effleurages, the technique allows the benefits of the different essential oils used to be conveyed to the entire physical body.

The session ends with a soothing warm towel on your back while you spend 5 to 10 minutes receiving the benefits of the oils.
